New York’s popular elevated park, the High Line, opens its third and final phase at the Rail Yards.

This final section brings to a close the 15-year public works project that now stretches 22-blocks  between Gansvoort and 34th street.

The new section, known as High Line at the Rail Yards, pays homage to the park’s origins as an elevated train track.  Integrated into the paved paths and public plazas are the remnants of the old tracks, which have been left behind as a physical reminder.
